How to Working out on Chilly Mornings…
Mornings everywhere are getting chilly!  While we completely understand the desire stay inside your warm, cozy bed, there are infinite amount of reasons to get up and workout! Just a friendly reminder that you won’t get the butt you want by sitting on the one you have!
I always prefer working out in the morning when I can, because I get it done and out of the way.  There are several benefits to morning workouts. They increase your metabolism & mood and help you stay warm all day by increasing blood flow and circulation.  They also helps you immune system stay strong, meaning you’ll be less likely to get sick.  Most importantly, you will be looking and feeling great as Christmas and the New Year approaches.
Here are some of my favorite tips for getting creative with your workouts during chilly days:
Clear some space at home! Knowing yourself is super important, and if going outside on a cold morning isn’t going to happen for you, that’s totally okay! Plan for it and create some space inside your house this weekend.  Rearrange  the furniture and make it work!
Find an accountability partner or a workout bud buddy! Talk to friends who live nearby and see if you can create a shared workout space together!  If none of your close friends live nearby join an accountability group on Facebook!
Find a local class: New studios are popping up everywhere, and there may be a few new ones relatively close to your house, school or work.  Sign up for a morning class a few times a week!  It helps to be around others who have the same goals in mind!
Take up a Winter Sport: Snowboarding, skiing  & ice skating are fun and all give you a great workout! Even if you’ve never tried any of them, learning something new is a great motivator!
Layer up! If you decide to brave the cold morning air, make sure you dress in layers and choose the appropriate gear to cover your hands and ears, especially if it’s raining outside. Also, be safe and stay away from wet or icy areas. If you can, bring a friend! ;) A brisk morning jog will wake you up and leave you feeling fresh for the rest of the day.
Join a gym! With classes and tons of equipment, this is always a good option! Gyms are a great place to meet new friends and an easy way to mix up your routine on a daily basis. Most gyms offer a trial membership, so don’t be nervous just try it out!

  1. Is it weird that I actually prefer working out in the winter? I’m from the south so it’s not that cold but I love how the air gets during the morning time <3

  2. I WISH I had the energy/willpower to wake up early to get my workout on, but alas- I’m one of those chronic snooze-button-hitters and I barely get out of bed in time to get to work! All my workouts are saved for the evening!

Hope you’re having a great week, doll!
