Chocolate Frosting with Angel Food Cake

Yesterday, was my amazing husbands birthday!  I spent the day shopping for him and making him his favorite cake!  His mom lives out of the country and I knew if she was in town she would have made homemade chocolate frosting and angel food cake with strawberries for his special day!  The caked turned out beautiful and the chocolate frosting was so good!  The recipe is super easy and you can find it on the back of most cocoa canisters.  Hope you enjoy!

XO,

Rachel Ashley

Ingredients

1 stick (1/2 cup) butter
2/3 cup HERSHEY’S Cocoa
3 cups organic powdered sugar
1/3 cup organic (non-fat) milk
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Recipe
Melt butter.  Stir in cocoa.  Alternately add powdered sugar and milk, stirring and beating to a spreading consistency.  Add small amount of additional milk, if needed.  Stir in vanilla.  This recipe will yield about 2 cups frosting.

  4. Hey Rach!
I’ve been out of town for a few days, but it is nice to be back. Figured I’d stop by to see what you have been cooking up her at Fashionably Living :)

This looks great! And I could actually eat it. I can’t do milk so it is nice to see a dessert without milk. :) I’ll try it out and let you know how it turns out.
