Houndstooth

Good Morning or shall I say good afternoon?  I was able to finally sleep in today!  The joys of sleeping in, but I haven’t really experienced it since college, and I am not sure I even did it that much then.  The funny thing is, when your body gets use to waking up at 5:30 am, it is hard to sleep in until noon.  I wish I could sleep in that late sometimes, but usually the latest I can sleep in, these days is about 10:30 am and even that can be difficult.

It has been cold in the morning these passed few weeks, so I was really excited when I got to pull out my houndstooth coat.  I love this coat, it is quite fashionable and keeps me warm too.  Did you see my necklace and bracelet?  Those are the new pieces I purchased from Macy’s a couple weeks ago.  You can see the other necklace and bracelet I bought here.  Back to my fabulous jacket though…Houndstooth, houndstooth check or hound’s tooth (and similar spellings), also known as dogstooth, dogtooth or dog’s tooth, is a duotone textile pattern characterized by broken checks or abstract four-pointed shapes, often in black and white. The classic houndstooth pattern is an example of a tessellation.  A tessellation or tiling of the plane is a pattern of plane figures that fills the plane with no overlaps and no gaps.  So do you love houndstooth?  I badly want the Tom’s Houndstooth shoes!  I know my sister-in-law said she had them in grey, but I think the black and white ones are too cute!  Well, now you are fully educated in “Houndtooth”…lol!

Well, today I am off to do a little Thanksgiving grocery shopping and work on my Christmas decorations!  I love the holidays and I feel like the week of Thanksgiving really kicks the season off! I  can’t wait to share my recipes with you, as well as all the cute holiday outfits!  See you at the same place tomorrow!

Rachel Ashley
