For the Love of Shoes

Happy Thursday!  Only one more day, until the weekend, yeah!  I think most girls are obsessed with shoes and purses!  I know for me they’ve always been my weakness, well chocolate too!  I thought it would be fun to review a few of my favorite shoes from the past year!  Which one(s) are your faves?

XO,

Rachel Ashley

Happy Monday!  I had a fabulous birthday weekend!  I did lots of shopping, had amazing food, and spent time with friends and family!  I am so blessed and so thankful for another amazing year.  I am truly grateful for the people God has placed in my life and how good He is to me day in and day out!  Thank you for all the birthday wishes!  All of you truly mean the world to me and I am grateful for you too!

Check out my new jewelry, boots, and jeans – all birthday gifts from my mom and hubby!  It’s always fun to sport your new stuff, right?!?  And I love my vintage Ralph Lauren bag, that my dad bought my mom when I was a little girl, (see how I wore it, here).  If I could have the wardrobe of one store, it would definitely be Ralph Lauren!

XO,

Rachel Ashley

Boots and Scarves

Happy Friday!  TGIF!  The weather has been so weird lately!  We had a month of really cold weather, than these past two weeks it has been warm in the day and cold in the evenings, and then just yesterday, it rained!  So random, but I love rainy weather, because it is pretty much warm and sunny all year on the West Coast!  During the winter I seem to dress in layers, because it’s cold in the morning and then by mid-afternoon its warm.  Boots and a scarf will get you through the day until the sun goes down and it begins to get chilly again!  BTW, I love scarves I think they are one of the best accessories to an outfit in the winter (and sometimes the summer too).  They keep you very warm when wrapped around your neck, they don’t usually take away from an outfit, they usually add a splash of color or sophistication to it. Wouldn’t you agree?   I took the same sweater dress you saw here, and instead of mixing brown with it I mixed black.  I love how you can wear clothing so many different ways, it make searching through your closet so much fun!  I love taking pieces in my closet and wearing them a way I never have before.  I think so many bloggers are great at this!  You see a lot of bloggers use dresses as shirts or even as a skirt, by layering other articles of clothing on top!  I love bloggers and I love all the fun hints and tricks we share with each other!  Little shout out to all my fellow blogger peeps, I have so much fun visiting your blogs and finding out how to mix and match my wardrobe!  Anyways, have a fabulous Friday!

XO,

Rachel Ashley

MLK Day

Happy Monday!  It’s a holiday, yeah for a day off!  I’m blessed to have this day off and its so nice to be able to relax at home with my hubby!  Today, I am so excited to share with you this amazing dress I found for under $7.00!  I was in Ross a couple weeks ago and I saw a navy dress hid underneath another dress and it had a clearance tag on it, for $6.45.  What a SCORE!!!  I love shirt dresses, plus the dress came with a belt (which I didn’t wear in these pics), I love the gold accents, the tuxedo stripe down the arms and that it has pockets.  Its also long enough to wear to work and feel comfortable!  I’ve only worn the dress once, but its already under construction, sort of speak.  Due to my shorter legs, I thought this dress could use a slit on each side, that way it won’t look so boxy and you’ll actually be able to see my legs when I wear knee high boots!  Did you see my new bag!?!    The bag was a Christmas gift from my mom, which I haven’t been able to stop using, because its big with soft leather, came with a clutch inside and just perfect for me!  Well, enjoy MLK Day and I hope you all have a great week!

XO,

Rachel Ashley

Sweater Dress

Hello lovelies! Do you have exciting New Years Eve plans?  My husband and I are throwing our third holiday party and tonight its a “Black and White Affair”!  I am super excited, although I still haven’t figured out what I am wearing!  This outfit I wore a couple day’s ago, when my husband and I were doing a little shopping!   I told you I loved sweater dresses and leggings this time of year!  Its cold enough to wear layers, but not cold enough to wear a big jacket!  It was a sunny day at the park, so my adorable Isaac Mizrahi short blazer worked perfect over my color-blocked sweater dress.  These boots are warm and super cute with the added buckle detail on the side, my hubby purchased them for me last year.  Oh, and don’t forget to check out my new long  leaf statement earrings, I love their length and their not too heavy on my ears!

I can’t wait to start 2013 with all of you!  I appreciate all the love and support you have shown me in 2012 and I am grateful to have made so many new blogger friends!

Happy New Years friends!

XO,

Rachel Ashley
