A Swanky Hotel

Posted by on Jun 12, 2012 in Fashionably Interior Design | 0 comments

Okay, everyone its summer time and I am obsessing over so many hotels!  I am incredibly attracted to hotels with a good aesthetic and amazing interior design!  There are so many boutique hotels popping up all over the world that ooze with these qualities.  These boutique hotels bring a hunger for experience and a taste for the unusual.  There are so many great websites out there, that you can subscribe to and stay up to date with the latest and swankiest hotels!  Check out The Redbury in Hollywood, California!  I love the ecelectic design concepts within the hotel.  Many aspects of this hotel are modern, but the designer grounded the hotels design with traditional furnishings and accessories!  I personally, have never stayed here, but its on the list!  Check out all the great accessories, baroque chairs, moulding, checkered floors, small details that I truly love about this hotel!

Do you have a favorite boutique hotel?  Do tell, because I would love to add it to my “places to stay” list!  Have a fabulous Tuesday!

Rachel Ashley

Globe-trotting style icon Diane von Furstenberg puts her mark on London’s Claridge’s Hotel

Good Morning! It is almost Friday!  Yesterday was pretty crazy for me, I just didn’t have the best day, but the best part is I get to start fresh today!  I have a busy day ahead of me and a long night, I pray that today goes more smoothly for me than yesterday!

Many of you, like me, get stuck sitting on Pinterest for hours!  We get swept away by the fashion, design and all the creative things on there.  The other day I came across this fabulous bedroom, and it turns out the bedroom was from one of the most prestigious hotels in London, Claridge Hotel.  When you step inside the Art Deco Claridge Hotel, a hotel of luxury in Mayfair, you will experience a world of stunning design and flawless service unmatched in London.  Five-star luxury and over a century of glamour combined to create a world of sophistication in the heart of London.   The best part is that the Claridge Hotel and Diane Von Furstenburg paired up to create a series of guest rooms and suites.  DVF has been a longtime guest of the hotel since the 1970′s and considers it her home away from home and has admitted to taking insipration from the hotels interiors.   DVF stated, “One of my fondest memories was when I was in London as a young, independent businesswomen and stayed at the Claridge’s.  I knew I had made it.  To me, Claridge’s is the most glamorous hotel in the world.”

The series of guests suites were designed in collaboration with interior decorator Olivier Gelbsmann.   The project involves the renovation of 20 guest rooms and suites.  The guest rooms and suites feature DVF’s stylish prints on upholstery and coverings, Murano glasswork, luxurious handcrafted rugs and cashmere blankets.  Can we say “LUXURY”!?!  Add this to your checklist ladies and gents, this must be on your places to stay and/or visit!

Rachel Ashley

Vegas Adventures

This time last weekend I was celebrating my two year wedding anniversary with my fabulous husband Kyle.  We spent 3 days and 2 nights in Las Vegas at the beautiful Venetian.  We spent the days shopping, walking the strip, eating at awesome restaurants like the Mesa Grill, saw The Phantom, and played like we were 18 again!  I had so much fun and I wanted to share our adventures with you! Enjoy!

Plaza Athéneé

All I can say is, “WOW”!!!  This hotel is simply stunning!  I first got a glimpse into the rooms of this hotel when Chiara Ferragni from The Blonde Salad went to a presentation for the Dior Addict lipstick which took place at a suite in the Plaza Athéneé.  This suite screams Glamor!  The materials, fabrics, furniture, finishes are so beautiful!  This is the place for sheer hotel luxury. Sure, the 145 rooms are impeccably done, some in period-perfect Art Deco accents and some in opulent Louis XVI style.  The Plaza Athénée, an 1889 Art Nouveau marvel, is a landmark of discretion and style. In the 8th arrondissement (The city of Paris is divided into twenty arrondissements municipaux administrative districts, more simply referred to as arrondissements) , only the Bristol can compare.  About half the celebrities visiting Paris have been pampered here; in the old days, Mata Hari used to frequent the hotel.  This hotel is exquisite.  I can’t wait to visit!  Below are some pictures from The Blonde Salad I couldn’t get over the photos she took of the suite.  I want to live in the suite and never ever leave, I think I would be incredible happy there!  Enjoy, mwah!
