Let’s Talk Green!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!  Do you have any big plans?  St. Patty’s Day is always a fun day to go out and celebrate with friends!  It is a good excuse to have a good time!  This morning I was enjoying my morning coffee, while flipping through magazines, when I came across several green kitchen appliances and flatware.  These pieces really inspired me and I thought they would be perfect and fitting for a day that’s all about green!  Don’t pinch me just yet, as I’m crushing over these apple green pieces!  There is nothing more fun that adding a pop of color into a space and a kitchen is always a good place to start.  The first kitchen I fell in love with was Ina Garten’s; it was very traditional with white cabinets and black counter-tops, but her walls were painted in vertical stripes in two tones of green, do you remember that kitchen?  What do you think about the color green?  Do you prefer apple green or forest green? I think I like apple green the best!  I tend to lean toward  bright and bold colors!  Enjoy!

For the Love of Ikat

Hello lovlies!  Now that Monday has passed, the week is in full swing.  I have so many things to get done this week, as usual.  I registered for my last interior design class, super excited – I am almost done!  But who knows with me, I love school, so who knows when I’ll stop.  Speaking of interior design, what do you think of ikat?  Ikat is a dyeing technique used to pattern textiles that employs a resist dyeing process similar to tie-dye on either the warp or weft fibers.  If you don’t know, the warp fibers are the longitudinal threads and the lateral threads are the weft or filling.  Now that you’re fully versed in ikat, what do you think of it.  If used correctly I love it!  It is much more sophisticated than tie-dye in my opinion and I think it looks really cool! Enjoy!
