Hi lovelies!  I am so sorry I have been M.I.A!!!  Most of you that follow my blog, know from my last post that we had a surprise in the family, which took me away from my everyday life and responsibilities, while I spent time with family!  It was an emotional time, but it was so nice to spend time with family and love on each other!  So I appreciate you sticking around and waiting for me to come back.  I didn’t even really have a chance to tell you I would be away from the blog for over a week!  Well, I have some very exciting things in the works for Fashionably Living and I am excited to share these with you over the next several months! By the way what do you think of my new blouse?   I hope you love my magenta stripe Banana Republic shirt as much as I do.  I dressed it up a bit by pairing it with a pencil skirt and wearing one of my favorites Jessica Simpson shoes, because you know I love the bows!  And  of course I draped my neck with pearls, like usual!

Design Elements: Adding Color

Hi lovelies!  Happy Friday!  I know I have been telling you my life is crazy busy, and I haven’t been posting as often the past couple weeks, but my blog is super important to me and I want to thank all my followers for your support and sweet comments!  It really means a lot to me and I think its important to tell you often, how grateful I am for all of you, I digress!

Today I am excited to talk to you about color!  Now that spring is here, a lot of people change out their pillows add flowers to vases, etc. to bring color and life into their home.  I wanted to give you 5 helpful and fun tips on how to add color to your home this spring and summer!  These tips are inexpensive and super easy!

1. Painting a drab, old dinning room table, your favorite color! Paint is a quick and easy way to add color to furniture.

2. Add pops of color in unexpected places like the inside of bookcases or cabinets.

3. Add colored vases and flowers to a kitchen or any room in your home!

4. Painting curtain rods a bright color is an adorable way to add color to your window!

5. Paint a wall an accent color.  If your not brave enough to paint an entire wall, you could paint a small wall like shown below.

Bright Colors and Jewel Tones

Good Morning!  Happy Hump day lovelies!  I hope you all have had a good week thus far.  Sorry that I haven’t been posting as frequently as I would like, but between my hubby’s birthday and his surprise birthday party, this past week was very busy!  Oh and I ran a 5k too, this past weekend, which was so much fun and for a great cause!  I even shaved 2 minutes off my time!  I was so excited to wear this outfit, because I have had this top in my closet for months and these pants I bought just before our cruise, and I haven’t worn either of them until now!  I loved the bright colors, mixed with the jewel tones, I thought they looked so pretty together!  Hope you enjoy!

Pink and Brown

Happy Monday!  I had a fabulous birthday weekend!  I did lots of shopping, had amazing food, and spent time with friends and family!  I am so blessed and so thankful for another amazing year.  I am truly grateful for the people God has placed in my life and how good He is to me day in and day out!  Thank you for all the birthday wishes!  All of you truly mean the world to me and I am grateful for you too!

Check out my new jewelry, boots, and jeans – all birthday gifts from my mom and hubby!  It’s always fun to sport your new stuff, right?!?  And I love my vintage Ralph Lauren bag, that my dad bought my mom when I was a little girl, (see how I wore it, here).  If I could have the wardrobe of one store, it would definitely be Ralph Lauren!

It’s My Birthday!

I love Birthday’s!  My mom always made such a big deal out of my birthday growing up, that now I look forward to my special day every year!  She always made me feel so special and now she has passed that torch onto my husband!  I started my morning in bed with a cup of coffee, while skimming the pages of Travel and Leisure while I waited on breakfast in bed!  My husband never makes me coffee, but I swear he secretly watches me make it everyday, because the coffee was so good!   My mom came and made be breakfast in bed and my husband and I lounged in bed eating  and talking.  Last year, my husband had to work on my birthday, but he dropped off flowers at my work and then told me to be at the spa by noon and he had scheduled me a massage and pedicure!  This year I am lucky enough to spend the entire day with him!  We plan to go to lunch with my family and then he is taking me shopping! YEAH!!!  Last year, he took me shopping the day after my birthday and I had way too much fun in Forever 21!  Well, its that time of year again…here’s to birthday shopping round 2! Cheers!
