Happy Tuesday!!! Did everyone have a lovely, weekend? I had a great weekend! I taught dance and cheer, which was super fun, and I haven’t done that in years! It all came back to me though, like it was just yesterday! I also did a little shopping with my mom, sun bathed and watched The Bible with the family! Anyways, I hope your week is off to a good start!

Hello lovelies! Sorry my posting has been a little sporadic! Ever since we got home from the cruise, life has been pretty busy! This last weekend was so much fun! I was blessed to attend two fabulous gala events! On Sunday, I wore this fabulous yellow Maggy London dress to a Children’s Cancer Fashion show! Attire, was spring dresses and check out my Prada shoes, I purchased these after my very first “real” interior design job! Anyways, those kids and families were so awesome and they are so strong! Dillard’s sponsored the Fashion show and allowed the children to choose outfits based on their fashion sense. They all looked so cute! It truly makes you count your blessings and thank God for your health! My mom and I took a few photos around the hotel’s property, the flowers were simply gorgeous!!! Enjoy!
XO,
Rachel Ashley

When I put my grandmother’s dress on, I felt like I was transported to Hawaii in the 1960′s. I love trying on her old coats and dresses and pairing them with pieces I have. She would have had a smile from ear to ear seeing me in one of her favorites dresses. I remember my grandmother wearing this summer dress all the time, I think it was one of her favorites and I can see why. My grandmother actually did purchase this dress in Hawaii. The colors are vibrant and the yellow adds a touch of sun and a hint of color blocking! Enjoy!

Rachel Ashley

I am so glad its Friday! Do you have any exciting plans for the weekend? I am excited that I don’t have any plans. I am always so busy and my schedule is always packed so it will be nice to have the time to get things done around my house! To a guest my house looks perfectly clean, but to me it is dirty! I need to mop the floors, vacuum, dust, wash clothes, fold and iron clothes, clean my husbands and my closet. My car needs a good washing along with my two furry children. I also would like to catch up on my TV shows, watch a movie or two, finish homework, and complete a few DIY projects. Do you think I expect too much of myself? I know I really do expect so much of myself, but working late nights and leaving early in the morning on a daily basis causes many of the basic household chores to be put to the side. Tonight my hubby is having a guy’s night, so my mom and I are going to enjoy a movie night together. Although it would be fun to watch a newer release, I was thinking about how much I love old movies! There is something to be said for movies from the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s. Movies aren’t made the same anymore. I always say I was born in the wrong era, because fashions from these decades are fabulous, people and history from this time were like no other and my favorite is the entertainment was singing and dancing. While I escaped to these thoughts for a while I remembered the beautiful women that graced the Hollywood screens. The Barbie dolls of those decades were people like: Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Lucille Ball, Rosemary Clooney, Vera Ellen, Ginger Rodgers, Shirley Temple and the list could go on. The glamour and beauty each of these women had was remarkable and definitely unforgettable. I love to look at these vintage pictures of these beautiful women! Still not sure which movie I will watch, but I am thinking a classic! Have a fabulous Friday!

Good Morning! Can you believe this week is almost over. I feel like it was just yesterday that I was saying that and now it is a week later. Those of you who have been following me know that these past two months have been crazy busy for me. I don’t think I ever told you why, but I was promoted and opened a retail store and my life has been extremely hectic. I love my new job and the people I get to be around everyday. God has truly blessed me and I feel so lucky. Unfortunately, my life hasn’t slowed down, which in many ways I love, and then others times I have big black circles under my eyes and I look a mess, because I am so tired! I am feeling good today, yesterday was pretty mellow and I was able to get up a run this morning, which always helps my day!
As for today, I am excited, because tonight I get to spend time with my nieces. There is a Fall Festival my mom and I are taking the girls to and I am looking forward to spending time with them! I will be sure to post pictures of our Fall Festival Adventure. My niece Tia is going to be a cat and Sienna is going to be a lady bug, they will be so adorable, I can’t wait to share our pics.
I am also excited to share with you some pics of an outfit I wore last week. I was so excited to wear my grandma’s sweater and mix vintage with new pieces! But I didn’t only mix the old with new, I also did some color blocking. These colors, bright green and Barbie pink, look so good together, don’t you think? I lot of times we think bright colors are only for summer, but this Fall you are going to be seeing more bright colors. Who doesn’t love a pop of pink or green? I love my Barbie Pink Kate Spade bag and I thought pairing it with my grandmas vintage bright green sweater was perfect and an extremely fun combo! Did you see my earrings? These were my moms and I remember seeing them in her jewelry box when I was a little girl, 80′s jewelry is so back, so dig through your mom’s old stuff, I am sure you will find some winners!
Have a wonderful Thursday!

Rachel Ashley
